We encourage our residents to focus on items in the kitchen, laundry, and bath, recycle:
Shredded paper can be recycled if it is sealed in a paper bag. Fold & tape and or staple the top of the paper bag shut before placing in the recycle cart. This will prevent paper from making a mess when tipped into the collection truck.
In the recycling cart, we cannot accept:
Please do not include any items from the garage, shed, or yard (they are too soiled).
Access a map here and find your service day.
Below are the relevant municipal codes:
The default cart size for both recycling and garbage carts is 96 Gallons. These are the dimensions.
Some people chose to have a smaller, 64-gallon cart for garbage. These are those dimensions:
Cart storage standards are determined by HOAs within each community. Some HOAs may require carts to be out of sight, stored in a garage, etc. The City has no authority over storage requirements set by HOAs other than that they cannot violate or supersede City laws.
If you see a violation of City code, including a cart left outside on the curb for too long, you can use the Action Center and submit a code enforcement concern.
The City strives to ensure that all citizens are able to safely utilize our services. We offer two levels of accommodation for assistance. Qualifications for each are described in the form below. For more information, call the Solid Waste & Recycling Department at 918-259-7000 x7356.

Green waste can be collected in any trash bag and placed in the trash cart if the bag fits. Extra green waste that can’t fit in your cart will need to be placed into clear plastic bags or paper bags designed for lawn waste. Both types of bags are available at home improvement and grocery stores.
Residents may bundle or place green waste in clear or paper bags outside of the trash cart. There is a 20 bag (30-gallon size) and/or bundle limit per week free of charge.
If green waste is placed in black trash bags or nags larger than 30-gallon size, it will be considered trash and charged accordingly.
If you have extra bags beyond the capacity of the cart, the rate schedule is as follows:
In the new cart system, collection days that fall on a holiday are made up using a “slide” method: collection days on or after holidays slide forward one day.
